Job summary

The Forward Trust, based in Sutton, seeks a Regional Peer Co-ordinator to support adults in custody within an Integrated Substance Misuse Service. You will help build a peer support network and promote health and wellbeing among service users.

You will train Peer Supporters, develop peer-led interventions across prison wings, and signpost users to relevant services, travelling between sites as required.

• Ability to build positive relationships with service users.
• Confident communicator who can engage and motivate others.
• Able to empower individuals to take greater responsibility for their health.
• Experience training and developing others through peer support.
• Able to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Organised and able to coordinate peer support activities.

Responsibilities

• Champion the Integrated Substance Misuse Service within the prison.
• Train and support service users to become Peer Supporters.
• Develop and support peer-led interventions across wings.
• Signpost service users to health, wellbeing and support services.
• Build links between the service and prison service users.
• Work with prison staff to ensure effective support.
• Travel between prison sites as required.
• Work a flexible rota including evenings and weekends.
