Job summary

Global Commissioning is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead mission-critical data centre commissioning projects across multiple sites in Europe. You will act as the senior technical authority, delivering governance, oversight, and high-quality outcomes while bridging site teams with senior management.

You will oversee Level 1–5 commissioning, IST, and set standards, ensuring safety, reliability, and client satisfaction across assignments in a dynamic regional landscape.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mission-critical data centre systems.
• Experience with electrical power distribution and mechanical cooling systems.
• Knowledge of controls & integrated systems.
• Understanding of redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N).
• Experience in live/operational data centre environments.
• Familiarity with EN 50600, TIA-942 and Tier concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction across multiple commissioning teams and oversee IST.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on scope, milestones and resource planning; monitor delivery plans and risks.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary commissioning teams; promote collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.
• Act as senior regional technical contact for clients; manage expectations and provide progress updates.

Due to frequent travel across Europe, the role is open to candidates based anywhere in the UK or mainland Europe, preferably near a major international airport.

Global Commissioning is expanding, and we are looking for a Regional Operations Manager to lead and deliver mission-critical commissioning projects across multiple sites within an assigned region.

About the Role

As Regional Operations Manager, you will act as the senior technical authority across your region, providing leadership, governance, and delivery oversight on complex data centre projects.

You will bridge site-based teams and senior management, ensuring projects are delivered:

• To the highest technical standards
• In line with contractual and client expectations

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical direction across multiple commissioning teams
• Oversee Level 1–5 commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
• Set and enforce commissioning standards and methodologies
• Support resolution of complex system integration issues

Operational & Project Oversight

• Coordinate with Project Managers on scope, milestones, and resource planning
• Monitor delivery plans, risks, and performance across projects
• Ensure consistency in reporting and execution
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary commissioning teams
• Promote collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement
• Support technical development and knowledge sharing

Client Engagement

• Act as senior regional technical contact
• Manage expectations and provide clear progress updates
• Support issue resolution and escalation management
