Help us make a difference as a Regional Operations Manager

A quick look at the role

This regional role covers the Northwest of the UK, including but not limited to sites in Manchester, Liverpool, Stoke, St Helens, and surrounding areas. The position oversees multiple sites, driving operational performance, team leadership, compliance, safety, customer service, fleet management, sustainability initiatives, and regional reporting. It requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and an operational mindset to deliver KPIs and foster continuous improvement across all sites.

Your core responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, including collection, transfer, and recycling.
  • Develop and support regional strategies to boost productivity, cut costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Support site managers in building a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and enforce company safety policies.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder and customer relationships; assist with escalated service issues.
  • Monitor budgets, track KPIs, report on financial performance, and implement cost controls.
  • Optimise use of drivers, vehicles, and equipment to reduce downtime and maintain compliance.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives, recycling, diversion strategies, and provide regular reports to leadership.
Our essential requirements
  • Extensive operational leadership experience within services or logistics, with proven KPI delivery and P&L accountability.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing labour-intensive, multi-shift, unionised environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of transport, logistics, compliance, and safety standards, with IOSH, CPC or COTC desirable.
  • Skilled in operational systems, Microsoft Office, and data reporting, with analytical ability to drive performance.
  • Strong communicator and leader with proven decision-making skills and ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Flexible and solution-focused mindset with willingness to travel across the region and promote continuous improvement.
