Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Operations Manager for the Wales region.

As a Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe delivery of products within your region by utilizing available resources within specified budgets and controls. You will also ensure that depot infrastructure and integrity align with Certas Energy's overall strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Managing resources according to budgeted headcount and vehicle/driver combinations.
  2. Overseeing stock and supply chain management, investigating product loss/gain, and implementing corrective measures.
  3. Optimizing resource utilization to meet demand and achieve budget targets.
  4. Reducing operating costs, managing delivery windows to meet/exceed customer expectations, and improving KPIs such as average load size per day.
  5. Ensuring all colleagues and third-party staff are properly trained to meet company standards.
  6. Managing depot audits and formulating action plans for findings.
  7. Overseeing truck operations, including maintenance.
  8. Investigating and resolving delivery incidents, including disciplinary hearings if necessary.
  9. Establishing and maintaining effective communication within depots.
  10. Monitoring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and customer procedures, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  11. Reviewing and optimizing internal processes for efficiency.
  12. Analyzing KPI data to ensure performance and efficiency.
  13. Liaising with Regional Transport Managers for vehicle MOTs and servicing.
  14. Controlling costs and managing budgets.
  15. Managing depot volumes and forecasting based on business performance and customer demand.
  16. Monitoring financial performance, minimizing costs, maximizing profit, and implementing corrective actions.
  17. Overseeing all regional operations and drivers.
  18. Managing routing functions within the region.
  19. Reviewing contributions of direct reports.
  20. Ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are followed, meeting legal and environmental obligations.
  21. Ensuring depot staff understand and comply with company policies, processes, and procedures.

Skills/Experience Required:

  1. Ability to liaise effectively with various functions and stakeholders.
  2. Experience negotiating with trade unions.
  3. Experience in Health and Safety management.
  4. Knowledge of profit and loss, financials, and budgets.
  5. Understanding finance for non-financial managers.
