Job description

We’re searching for a Multi-site, regional operations manager for our on-site-solutions operations. These are CHEP owned and operated lines within our customers sites. This role will oversee 5 sites and 70 staff. This will require some travel as part of the job; with sites including; Livingston, Teesport, Wigan, Goole and Litchfield. Ideally you’ll be based in the North West for ease of travel.

  • The role will provide leadership and drive continuous improvement in production, safety, and quality metrics at the operational sites.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with third-party management teams, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance process reliability, productivity, and employee development, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of Zero Harm and Safety Differently initiatives, creating a safe and secure working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Oversee the effective application of Zero-Defect policies and procedures, ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
  • Drive achievement of production and efficiency targets, optimizing operations to meet customer demand and enhance overall performance.
  • Improve process reliability by identifying and addressing areas of inefficiency, implementing corrective actions and monitoring progress.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to operational teams, fostering a culture of development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement changes based on data-driven insights and root cause analysis, utilizing methodologies such as 5S, risk assessments, and best-in-class benchmarking.
  • Monitor and report key continuous improvement (CI) metrics, including plant efficiency, product flow compliance, and safety indicators such as near misses.
  • Lead and facilitate improvement activities using the Kaizen approach, encouraging a collaborative environment focused on operational excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with third-party management teams to ensure smooth operations, address challenges, and foster strong working relationships.
