Overview
Are you a dynamic, inspirational leader with a passion for retail and developing people? B&M is seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Regional Operations Manager to lead one of our largest geographical regions, overseeing around 100 high-performing stores through a team of 7 Area Managers. You'll work closely with our senior retail team to deliver operational excellence, drive KPIs, and ensure every customer experiences the great value and service we're known for. This role is to cover the South West of England, South and Mid Wales and will require travel.
Responsibilities
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of 7 Area Managers and one Garden Centre Operations Manager to deliver commercial excellence across approx. 100 stores.
- Using data and insight to identify trends, set priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Delivering on sales, margin and operational KPIs while maintaining exceptional standards of compliance, stock and customer service.
- Championing best practice, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the region.
- Reporting into the Retail Director and working closely with the central support teams to influence business strategy and implement initiatives effectively at pace.
- Acting as a role model for B&M\'s values - fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride in delivering results.
- The delivery of company objectives & KPI's
- Driving performance of Area Managers & their Stores
- Ensuring consistent store standards and customer experience
- Ownership of colleague lifecycle - end to end, working closely with Regional People Business Partner
- Strong succession planning & pipeline across all areas
- Delivery of our strategic growth plan
- Proven experience as a Regional Manager in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment.
- A strong commercial thinker with the analytical ability to turn data into action.
- Naturally hands-on - visible in stores, engaged with teams, and willing to lead from the front.
- Inspirational leadership style with a track record of developing and empowering high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and organisational skills.
- Passionate about delivering great retail experiences for both customers and colleagues.
- Ability to drive sales at all levels
