Job Description:

Serco’s Environmental Services team provides comprehensive waste and recycling services across the UK. This role involves delivering effective operational training, coaching, and mentoring at depots to ensure the safe, professional, and efficient delivery of refuse and recycling services within a demanding commercial environment.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Deliver operational training, including “Train the Trainer” sessions, to upskill supervisors on key objectives and tasks.
  2. Enhance communication and operational effectiveness.
  3. Identify training needs and develop bespoke learning plans with contract managers.
  4. Share best practices and standardize approaches for consistent monitoring and improvement across contracts.
  5. Review and update training materials to ensure currency and consistency.
  6. Support training reviews and ensure compliance.
  7. Maintain the Learning Management System to keep training records up to date and compliant.
  8. Ensure timely completion and recording of training documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of the waste industry.
  • Experience working with manual or field-based workforces.
  • Experience delivering operational training and coaching in waste environments.
  • Proficiency in IT applications (MS Office, industry-related systems).
  • Ability to plan and create training programs up to 6 months in advance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage workloads.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel nationally across England.
