Job summary

Knights Brown Construction Limited, an independent civil engineering contractor, seeks a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the Southern & South East Division's commercial function from the Maidstone office.

You will drive commercial performance across civil, infrastructure and marine projects, mentor a team of surveyors, manage NEC contract governance and build strong client relationships to sustain profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager in civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial governance.
• Experience leading multiple projects and mentoring teams.
• Proven ability to develop people and build succession.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial oversight across civil engineering, infrastructure and marine projects.
• Lead and support project commercial teams to maximise value and minimise risk.
• Ensure accurate commercial reporting, forecasting, CVRs and cashflow.
• Drive change control and governance processes.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of commercial staff.
• Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors.
