Job summary

Compass Associates is exclusively supporting an established care provider expanding into Ofsted-regulated childrens residential services in London.

The role leads development and oversight of childrens homes, ensuring governance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance from the outset.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience setting up homes, obtaining Ofsted registration, and directing senior teams through inspections.

Qualifications

• Direct childrens residential experience is essential.
• Experience setting up and opening a childrens home.
• Experience taking a childrens home through Ofsted inspection.
• Strong safeguarding, governance and quality assurance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the setup, registration and successful opening of new childrens homes across London
• Acting as Responsible Individual and providing effective oversight of Registered Managers
• Leading on Ofsted readiness, regulatory compliance and quality assurance
• Ensuring services meet the Childrens Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
• Developing robust governance, safeguarding and auditing frameworks
• Supporting recruitment and development of strong management teams
• Building effective relationships with Ofsted, local authorities and other key stakeholders
• Helping shape the longer-term growth and development of the childrens residential division

Compass Associates is exclusively supporting an established care provider with an exciting new phase of growth as they expand into Ofsted-regulated children’s residential services.

Already experienced in delivering specialist care and support across London, the organisation is now looking to appoint an experienced Responsible Individual / Regional Manager who can play a key role in establishing and developing its children’s residential offering.

This is a genuine opportunity to join at the beginning of the journey and have significant input into how the services are developed, registered and operated. We are therefore looking for someone who has personally been involved in setting up and opening children's homes and successfully taking services through Ofsted registration and inspection.

The Role

Working closely with the Owner you will take a lead role in the development and oversight of the organisation’s children’s homes, ensuring strong governance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance from the outset.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the setup, registration and successful opening of new children's homes across London

About You

For this appointment, direct children's residential experience is essential. We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Responsible Individuals, Regional Managers or senior operational leaders who can demonstrate:

• Successful experience setting up and opening a children's home
• Experience taking a children's home through a successful Ofsted inspection
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
• Experience overseeing Registered Managers and driving high standards across services
• Strong safeguarding, governance and quality assurance knowledge
• The ability to build effective systems and processes within a developing service
• A hands-on, collaborative approach and the confidence to advise and challenge at senior leadership level

This could suit an established Responsible Individual or Regional Manager looking for a permanent opportunity, or an experienced interim leader who can support the organisation through the initial setup, registration and development phase.
