Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Field Service Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of PV and BESS assets across the UK. The role includes ownership of HV networks, issuing safety documents, and coordinating with the HV Operations team.

Based in the Midlands with a company vehicle, you will travel regularly to sites within the region and beyond as required, delivering maintenance, commissioning support, and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• HV distribution knowledge and operation up to 132kV.
• Ability to read schematic drawings and understand content.
• Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations and related safety acts.
• Experience with protection schemes, relays, and fault investigations.
• Operational HV networks switching, isolation, earthing, and safety docs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Review RAMS for HV/LV activities and perform SAP duties.
• Execute switching operations from 11kV to 132kV across assets.
• Own HV assets regionally; ensure safe operation and reliability.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HV/LV systems.
• Coordinate with Planning Team to meet maintenance plans and timescales.
• Close HV defects and remedial works per priorities and risk assessments.
• Provide technical support for other Authorised Persons and Control Engineer.
