Job description

At Cloudbeds, we're not just building software, we’re transforming hospitality. Our intelligently designed platform powers properties across 150 countries, processing billions in bookings annually. From independent properties to hotel groups, we help hoteliers transform operations and uplevel their commercial strategy through a unified platform that integrates with hundreds of partners. And we do it with a completely remote team. Imagine working alongside global innovators to build AI-powered solutions that solve hoteliers' biggest challenges. Since our founding in 2012, we've become the World's Best Hotel PMS Solutions Provider and landed on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 again in 2024 – but we're just getting started.

How You'll Make an Impact:

As a Regional HR Specialist , based in the United States, you will play a crucial role in supporting operational HR functions specific to the NORAM region, contributing to an exceptional team member experience. This position ensures compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment laws, supports People Operations processes, and helps maintain accurate HR data. You’ll also assist in Payroll and Benefits tasks and serve as a vital link between Team Members and the broader People Team.

In this role, you will also be responsible for managing confidential and sensitive employee information, supporting internal audits, and coordinating region-specific compliance initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, leverage HR systems like Workday for data accuracy and reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes. Given the scope and autonomy of the role, this position requires a solid understanding of regional employment practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently across time zones.

Our People Team:

We’re a globally distributed, multicultural People Team spanning North America, Latin America, EMEA, and APAC, and that global footprint isn’t just a fact, it’s a strength we fully embrace. Our team brings a rich blend of perspectives, experiences, and cultural fluency that fuels everything we do, from nuanced people strategies to inclusive systems and scalable processes that work for everyone, everywhere.

We collaborate with heart and hustle. Despite time zones and borders, we operate with high trust, clear communication, and deep mutual respect. Whether we’re partnering with hiring managers, leading HR transformation, supporting regional teams, or crafting intentional team member experiences, we show up for each other and for the people we serve!

This is a team where empathy meets execution. Where people who thrive are those who are curious, proactive, globally minded, and genuinely passionate about making Cloudbeds a place where every team member can do their best work. We’re not just People Team, we’re culture shapers, problem solvers, strategy supporters, and people-first builders.

What You Bring to the Team:

Regional HR & People Operations Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries from team members and managers in the NORAM, escalating complex matters when needed.
  • Manage daily HR administrative activities, including support for local compliance tasks, and assisting with payroll and benefits coordination in partnership with the dedicated Payroll and Benefits team.
  • Support lifecycle events including onboarding, offboarding, internal transfers, and status changes.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and People team members to ensure timely handling of NORAM-specific HR actions and to provide accurate data to the Payroll and Benefits team.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain HRIS and team member files with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with legal claims, audits, and report preparation.
  • Distribute policies and ensure team members are informed of HR guidelines.

HRIS & Data Management

  • Update and maintain accurate team member data in the HRIS (Workday).
  • Generate routine HR reports and assist in basic data analysis.
  • Help review and maintain the accuracy of data related to compensation, benefits, and PTO.
  • Partner with Business Systems to resolve data discrepancies.

Payroll & Benefits Coordination

  • Partner with the Payroll and Benefits team by preparing, verifying, and submitting relevant data to support processing activities.
  • Respond to team member questions related to payroll and benefits, escalating complex or technical matters to the appropriate team.
  • Assist with benefit enrollments, audits, and documentation efforts specific to the NORAM region.
  • Support payroll compliance tasks by tracking and documenting changes such as pay adjustments or tax updates, as requested by the Payroll team.
  • Provide administrative support for Leave of Absence (LoA) cases, including tracking documentation, monitoring status changes, and coordinating communication between team members and the internal teams involved.

Project & Administrative Support

  • Contribute to people-related projects and operational process improvements.
  • Provide general administrative support to the NORAM People Operations function.

What Sets You Up for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years in HR operations, coordination, or generalist roles.
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment law and compliance standards.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with strong data manipulation and analysis skills in Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is a strong plus.

Bonus Skills to Stand Out (Optional):

  • Hands-on experience with Workday (data management, reporting, process support).
  • Comfort working in a globally distributed, multicultural team, especially across time zones and regional labor regulations.
