Job description

Regional HGV HIAB & Tanker Driver (Modular Cabins) - Southampton - E5629

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Salary: £17.04 per hour, overtime paid at time and a half.
Personal Fuel Paid to Site

This role involves working predominantly within one of our six regions, covering vacancies, holiday, and training for our branch lorry loader and tanker drivers. It requires nights away and weekend travel, depending on appointments.

Requirements: Lorry loading or HIAB experience, ALLMI D1+E or CPCS qualification.

Purpose

As a Logistics Relief Driver, you will ensure full fleet utilization, transporting modular structures and storage units with our fleet of over 70 lorry loader cranes, and servicing our Tanker team for customer welfare requirements.

Team Responsibilities

• Deliver products on time, in full, reporting issues promptly.
• Follow planned routes and movement orders.
• Optimize loading/unloading times.
• Meet requirements for moving abnormal loads.
• Operate a lorry loader crane in various environments.
• Work within the Tanker team for customer service calls.
• Complete safety checks on vehicles and equipment, reporting issues immediately.
• Adhere to EU driving hours and Working Time Regulations, aiming for zero infringements.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid Class 1 HGV Licence, with CPCS or ALLMI D1+E qualification preferred; Class 2 considered with at least 1 year’s experience.
• Experience operating lorry loader cranes (31-66 tonnes).
• Experience with wagon and drag combinations.
• Desired but not essential: tanker/waste management experience (training provided).
• Flexibility to be away from home, driving various vehicles at different locations, with appointments subject to change.
