Regional Head of Debt Fund Administration, London

The role is to act as department head for the Venture teams for Apex’s service offering. The Regional Head of Debt Fund Administration will be based in London and will lead the Group’s expanding operation and service delivery. They will be responsible for a team who lead various operational client facing roles such as accounting, administration, on-boarding and support team spread between London and South Africa. The role will have overall responsibility for client service delivery and improving standards of performance and quality, whilst holding responsibility for the running of the team in London and meeting financial targets.

They will be expected to maintain exceptional service levels to existing clients, have functional knowledge of products and the highest levels of expertise in the industry and providing them access to the wider global Apex Fund Services group to develop our growing reputation.

The team in approximately 15 people in London and 60 People in South Africa, there is direct responsibility for the people in London but the deliverables across the wider team.

Role requirements and Key Competencies

• May be required to act as director on selected client Boards and conduct Business Development Activities and act as an A signatory.
• Drive meetings, in person and online. Actively visit clients.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MSCI or similar.
• Team management - be proactive in the training and development of team, motivate and empower team members by building their capabilities, conduct regular 1 to 1 meetings and appraisals with the team.
• Delegate and control workloads in the team.
• Build effective relationships across the entire Apex business.
• Review, recommend and implement agreed changes to accounting processes and procedures.
• Ensure the team are kept up to date with changes to accounting standards and regulatory changes impacting the PE/Venture sector.
• Manage the set-up process for new funds.
• Oversight of team time/revenue recording, manage the accounting WIP write off process in conjunction with other managers
• Collaborate with other managers in the office to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
• Contribute and participate in New Business sales pitches on accounting matters.
