Role Overview:

The Airfreight Product Leader owns the airfreight product for the region, overseeing operational and commercial aspects to deliver a customer-centric product. Responsibilities include driving growth in tonnage and profitability via strategic sales, rate procurement, and cargo solutions, with a KPI-driven, collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & Commercial Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to grow airfreight tonnage and profitability, ensuring alignment with regional and global goals.
  • Customer Service & Sales Support: Deliver top-tier service, support sales with innovative offers, and act as a sponsor for key customers.
  • Carrier & Pricing Management: Build relationships with airlines and providers, manage pricing rights, and participate in regional pricing strategies.
  • Operational Excellence: Design consolidation hubs, improve processes, and oversee customs and operational execution.
  • Customer Engagement: Maintain regular customer contact, provide routing and pricing solutions, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Team Development: Lead and develop the airfreight team, fostering a customer-centric culture and ensuring compliance.
  • Financial Performance: Monitor P&L, prepare performance reports, and support tactical planning.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of airfreight experience, including 3-5 years in management with airline/partner procurement responsibility.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and cargo consolidation skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of the UK and European markets essential.
  • Willingness to travel.
