We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Regional Airfreight Gateway Manager - EMEIA to take ownership of our regional air gateway operations at the heart of our global network. In this critical leadership role, you will manage capacity planning, carrier performance, compliance, and cross-border coordination to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant airfreight movement across the EMEIA region. The Regional Airfreight Gateway Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of airfreight gateway hubs across the EMEIA region. This includes ensuring compliance with global standards, optimizing airfreight consolidation, improving service levels, managing carrier relationship, and maintaining cost-efficiency. The role requires cross -functional coordination with operations, procurement, customs, and sales teams to deliver best in class service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gateway Operations Oversight:
  • Lead and manage regional gateway facilities and teams.
  • Ensure efficient consolidation, deconsolidation, handling, and movement of airfreight cargo.
  • Optimize capacity utilization, transit times, and network performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, ground handlers, and vendors.
  • Negotiate space, rates, and service agreements in coordination with procurement.
  • Compliance & Quality Control:
  • Ensure compliance with local and international airfreight regulations (e.g., IATA, TSA, ICAO).
  • Enforce company policies and procedures, including safety and security standards.
  • Performance Management:
  • Define and track KPIs (e.g., on-time performance, cost per kilo, fill rates).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for service failures.
  • Process Optimization & Projects:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across gateway operations.
  • Lead or support the implementation of new systems, processes, or infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise gateway managers and operational staff.
  • Provide training, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Liaise with regional and global airfreight management, customer service, customs brokerage, and IT.
  • Support commercial teams with capacity planning, rate input, and service updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in airfreight operations, with at least 3 years in a regional or multi-site leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of international airfreight regulations and carrier management.
  • Proven track record in operational efficiency and team leadership.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems
  • IATA certification or similar is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel required (approx. 25–40%) to gateway sites and partner locations.
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, occasionally requiring extended hours.

  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment
  • Use of audio-visual equipment is required.
