Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have worked at Principal Social Worker level or above, or in an equivalent senior social work leadership role.
• Significant professional experience within fostering services.
• Strong understanding of fostering recruitment, assessment and approval processes.
• Experience developing or implementing practice guidance, policies, frameworks or standards.
• Experience delivering training to social care/fostering professionals.
• Experience facilitating workshops and multi-agency sessions.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant fostering legislation/regulation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and standardisation of regional fostering practice guidance.
• Develop standardised approaches to fostering recruitment, assessment and approval.
• Lead and facilitate training sessions, workshops and professional development events.
• Support the implementation of Regional Fostering across the region.
• Work collaboratively with local authorities, fostering teams and senior social care professionals.
• Provide expert advice on fostering practice, standards and processes.
• Review and improve existing fostering procedures and practice frameworks.
• Translate legislation and best practice into practical guidance and training.
• Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
