Expected salary - £46,500 - £58,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.
Location - This role is a Regional role where you will be required to travel to different locations around 3 days a week and will have the opportunity to work from home to complete reports etc. You will be required to attend meetings across the John Lewis Partnership estate on an ad-hoc basis.
Interview Process - This will be a 2 stage interview process, the first will be virtual and the second will be face to face in our Pimlico office.
As part of this regional role, you will be entitled to an essential use car.
Key responsibilities
Expert management and delivery of complex Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
Development and management of a regional fire risk assessment programme.
Developing robust fire safety action plans and providing specialist advice.
Conducting fire safety audits, inspections, and surveys.
Conducting pre-occupation fire safety assessments.
Reviewing fire strategies against current building conditions.
Supporting the business unit leads in developing fire evacuation plans.
Coordinating and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Delivering fire safety training programs.
Raising fire risk awareness and promoting fire safety measures.
Essential skills/experience you’ll need
RQF Level 4 or higher Fire Safety Qualification (e.g., Level 4 Certificate or Diploma in Fire Safety)
Membership of a Relevant Professional Body (e.g., IFE, IFSM)
Full UK Driving Licence
Expert knowledge of current fire safety legislation, technical standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance safety.
Proven expertise in conducting comprehensive Fire Risk Assessments on complex buildings and producing detailed reports.
Skilled in identifying and articulating appropriate and accurate remedial works derived from fire risk assessments, ensuring effective communication to all stakeholders.
Adept at providing expert guidance and support to diverse business units in navigating and resolving complex fire safety challenges.
Ability to provide crucial support and expert technical advice to business units, effectively facilitating the closure of fire safety actions and recommendations.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
Fire door inspection qualification
Passive fire protection qualification
Fire safety trainer qualification
IFE qualifications
Specialist fire safety qualifications.
Experience in conducting Fire Risk Assessments within retail environments and large distribution centres.
Demonstrated ability to autonomously plan and manage Fire Risk Assessment programmes across an entire region.
