Job Description:

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market leading energy company to recruit a Regional Environmental Compliance Lead to cover their western region of Energy from Waste Power Stations and Waste Transfer Stations including Bristol, Cardiff, and Cheshire.

The role offers a salary of £55,000, a £6,500 per annum car allowance, up to 10% bonus, private healthcare, and other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licenses, and specific working plans, including administration and audits.
  • Drive environmental performance improvement through behavioral change.
  • Ensure managers understand their responsibilities for managing environmental impact.
  • Monitor, review, and recommend improvements to management systems based on leading indicators.
  • Produce environmental reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare sites for internal and external audits related to ISO, environmental, and compliance aspects.
  • Record fuel and by-product samples for analysis according to procedures and criteria such as EP, ROCs, MCERTS, and CEMS.

Qualifications

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject such as Environmental Science.

Experience and skills
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as Power Generation, Refineries, or Water Treatment.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Experience with continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS).
  • Knowledge of standards ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO50001.
  • Understanding of hazardous characteristics of incinerator bottom ash (IBA).
  • Experience in environmental reporting and submissions to the Environment Agency.
