What Is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a Regional Distribution Manager to be based remotely covering the South West of England. You will have experience in a similar Distribution management role, or perhaps as a Development Underwriter or Account Manager, seeking the next step in your career.

As a Regional Distribution Manager, you will execute the distribution strategy across all lines of business including Financial Lines, Property & Casualty, SME, and Lloyds. You will manage all strategic partner relationships within your region, delivering a unified Travelers proposition. You will develop and manage profitable growth across all Planning Lines by leading and engaging with Underwriting colleagues to maximize visibility and broker interaction across the wider Travelers business.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manage Travelers’ relationships with key brokers in the region to achieve business targets and goals.
  2. Develop and execute sales pipeline strategies, collaborate with local Development Underwriters, and utilize pipeline data.
  3. Create the Regional “trading platform” including regular sales meetings, training, and product updates.
  4. Work with development underwriters to identify profitable underwriting opportunities and ensure consistent broker visit approaches.
  5. Maintain visibility across all business lines and stakeholders to promote the Travelers proposition.
  6. Deliver broker profiling to measure share of wallet and opportunities.
  7. Develop market visibility and broker relationships.
  8. Gather market intelligence and assist with product development feedback.
  9. Monitor and report on regional sales performance.
  10. Review and manage the Agency panel, assessing potential and creditworthiness.
  11. Evaluate new Agency applications in conjunction with the Agency Department.
  12. Build collaborative relationships within the organization, including Head Office and various departments.
  13. Participate in team meetings, company events, and professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience in the commercial insurance industry in a business development role.
  • Deep knowledge of assigned accounts and local market dynamics.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
  • Degree or ACII qualification, or working towards it.
  • Lloyd’s market experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop long-term, profitable relationships.
  • Experience in building broker account plans and negotiating strategies.
  • Strong marketing, sales, and pipeline management skills.
  • Knowledge of market drivers and trends.
  • Effective IT skills and a valid driving license.
Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Knowledge of Travelers’ products and appetite.
  • Ability to manage key influencers and demonstrate broker profiling and share of wallet.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative across business lines.
  • Strong prioritization skills.

  • Frequent use of Display Screen Equipment.
  • Occasional travel required.
