Job summary

Evri Swindon is seeking a Regional Delivery Manager to lead delivery performance across the region. You will coach Community Delivery Managers, shape strategy, and empower teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience in a fast-moving logistics environment.

You will own regional targets and budgets, recruit and retain self-employed couriers, manage resource planning, and drive seven-day operations while collaborating with depot leaders and the GMB union.

Qualifications

  • Current UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven ability to coach, support, and motivate teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to plan effective contingencies.
  • Previous success in leading agile, high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of the self-employed courier model.
  • Experience of setting and managing a budget.
  • Confident negotiator with adaptable communication style.

Responsibilities

  • Own regional performance targets and customer satisfaction by coaching Community Delivery Managers.
  • Influence and forecast the regional budget and cost controls to ensure profitability.
  • Maximise service coverage by recruiting, retaining, engaging, and managing self-employed couriers.
  • Lead courier resource planning with Resource Planners for full coverage and capacity.
  • Drive courier performance to ensure 7-day operation success.
  • Oversee regional delivery unit estate, procurement, location management, and service provision with Controllers.
  • Build and maintain strong relations with the GMB union to support self-employed couriers.
  • Build collaborative relationships with depot leaders and stakeholders for seamless parcel journeys.
  • Own escalated customer complaints and drive swift resolution with Customer Services.

  • Taking responsibility for regional performance targets and customer satisfaction by coaching and guiding a team of Community Delivery Managers.
  • Influencing, delivering, and forecasting the regional budget and cost controls (courier fees, contractor spend, ad-hoc payments, team expenses, and overrides), ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Maximising service coverage through effective recruitment, retention, engagement, and change management of self-employed couriers.
  • Leading resource planning for couriers, working with Resource Planners to ensure full coverage and stable delivery capacity.
  • Driving courier performance through your team to ensure success in a 7-day operation.
  • Overseeing the delivery unit estate in your region, including procurement, location management, and service provision in partnership with Delivery Unit Controllers.
  • Building and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with the GMB union, ensuring Evri remains a leader in recognising and supporting self-employed couriers.
  • Developing strong, collaborative relationships with depot leaders (especially the Depot General Manager) and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless end-to-end parcel journey.
  • Owning customer complaint escalations and ensuring swift resolution through collaboration with Customer Services and leadership of your team.
