Job description

Regional Data Forensics Manager

Location:

Police Headquarters, Exeter

Salary:

Grade 10 - Starts at £54,879 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £59,697 per annum

Working Arrangement:

Hybrid Worker - Flexible working combining remote and on-site work.

Hours:

37 hours per week. Part-time and flexible working options available.

About The Role

The principal responsibility is to manage the Data Forensic Team in examining electronic devices involved in crime investigations across the South West Forces. Key duties include:

  1. Managing technical investigations involving data retrieval from computers and mobile devices, including configuration of operating systems and applications.
  2. Attending searches as required and producing technical documentation related to data retrieved.
  3. Supporting criminal investigations and liaising with law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts.
  4. Acting as a Digital Forensic coordinator for investigations requiring multi-disciplinary technical responses.
  5. Managing team performance aligned with Force performance frameworks and quality standards.

Additional functions include duties related to manual handling, lone working, night shifts, working with hazardous materials, and handling disturbing evidence, subject to medical assessments and reasonable adjustments.
