Position Title: Regional Cover & Band Coach Support Lead

Location: Field-based – extensive travel across Greater London and wider UK, with overnight stays
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £31,000 to £35,000 per year + fuel card + car allowance + overnight expenses
Holiday: 11 weeks paid school holidays per year, plus bank holidays

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable music educator to take on a dynamic field-based role, providing regional lesson cover across the region, this is cover first role with some in-field coaching with a team of band coaches supporting the Area Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys travel, and is excited by the opportunity to support and uplift a network of primary school music programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

Field Support & Delivery

  • Provide comprehensive cover for absent band coaches, ensuring continuity of experience and quality for children, this will include cross regional cover
  • Ensure lessons are delivered in line with our minimum quota across the region providing lesson cover in line with SLA's and expectations
  • Deliver engaging rock and pop music lessons in a band setting to primary-aged children across various schools
  • Support band coaches in lesson delivery and live events such as concerts and showcases
  • Work closely with the operations team to assist in scheduling and delivering rescheduled sessions
  • Contribute to logistics including management of musical equipment and distribution of marketing materials
  • Maintain all admin responsibilities to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Coach Development & Regional Support

  • Support the Band Coach Performance Manager provide in-field coaching and mentoring to a team of up to 12 band coaches in your area
  • Support the Band Coach Performance Manager in championing the Band Coach performance cycle and the iRock curriculum.
  • Support the Band Coach Performance Manager carry out regular lesson observations, offer feedback, and deliver model sessions when needed.
  • Inspire and motivate coaches to uphold iRock's mission, values, and high standards of delivery.
  • Assist the Band Coach Performance Manager with operational insights, field reports, and suggestions for process improvement.
  • Help drive student engagement and retention across your region.
  • Build strong relationships with schools and act as a trusted point of contact when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and completion of all necessary administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 academic year as an iRock Band Coach or similar
  • Proven ability to teach at least two instruments from: drums, keyboard, guitar, vocals
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational abilities
  • Confidence in delivering high-energy sessions independently and supporting others to do the same
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight when required
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for music education
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Proven ability to inspire, support, and motivate team members to perform at their best
  • Confident delivering feedback and coaching in a way that is constructive and empowering
  • Experience mentoring or developing peers, ideally in a music or education setting
  • Comfortable holding others accountable to high standards while maintaining a supportive tone
  • Able to lead by example demonstrating professionalism, energy, and a commitment to iRock's values
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage positively with team members and school stakeholders
  • Organised and self-motivated, capable of managing a regional workload alongside team support responsibilities.
