Regional Construction Manager – Anaerobic Digestion & Biomethane

Oxfordshire/Midlands

£80,000 – £100,000 (DOE) Plus Car Allowance and Package

Introduction:

Our client is developing multiple multi-year contracts and projects in the UK, focusing on Anaerobic Digestion and Biomethane. They are seeking a skilled Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of challenging anaerobic digestor construction projects, each valued at approximately £25m, with a total project spend of around £400m.

You will manage a construction management team including site engineers, ensuring all activities meet project specifications from development through to completion with zero defects. Collaboration with the principal contractor and subcontractor teams will be essential.

You will play a key role in managing health, safety, environmental, and sustainability aspects, fostering a culture of collaboration, best practices, and continuous improvement across the project and supply chain.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and lead a high-performing, integrated construction management team by selecting and guiding personnel with the right skills and attitude to deliver projects successfully.
  • Ensure compliance with the Client’s CDM (2015) regulations and proper resource allocation for all projects.
  • Manage notifications and permits required for construction activities.
  • Lead and coordinate efforts across partner companies, leveraging their expertise to achieve best practices.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members, promoting a culture of feedback and continuous development.
  • Plan ongoing project needs and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management to forecast long-term resource needs, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prioritize SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) considerations in all strategies, projects, and processes, maintaining high standards at all times.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
  • Extensive construction management experience in a similar role within a Process or Civil Engineering contracting environment.
  • Experience managing multi-million-pound projects in industries such as anaerobic digestion, water/wastewater, or energy from waste.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 5-20 staff, with strong H&S expertise.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Civil Engineering/Construction Management (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS, NEBOSH or IOSH, Microsoft Project).
  • Experience with Collaborative Planning Tools is desirable.

The company offers excellent growth prospects and aims for substantial expansion in the coming years.

Package:

Competitive salary, flexible working arrangements, and a clear career progression path.
