Job summary

Scottish Wildlife Trust is seeking a Northeast Coordinator to lead the high-profile project to eradicate grey squirrels from Aberdeen and the surrounding Shire, setting a mainland Britain precedent for invasive species management and protecting native red squirrels.

You will manage the Northeast team, oversee monitoring and biosecurity activities, engage with partner agencies, and drive the transition plan from Confirmation through to long-term sustainability, ensuring knowledge sharing and best

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in ecology (or similar).
• At least two years’ relevant experience in wildlife ecology or conservation.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
• Experience developing and managing conservation projects.
• Expertise in ecological survey design, data collection and analysis.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Interest in disseminating best practice through guidance documents.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee Northeast team activities including line management.
• Create national activity guidance documents to disseminate proven practices and lessons learnt in Northeast.
• Support monitoring activities and respond to potential grey squirrel sightings.
• Collaborate with partners and develop transition plans for long-term sustainability.
