H&MV Engineering is offering a strong progression opportunity in Ireland, Europe, the UK, or new international regions for an experienced commissioning engineer ready to step into a broader leadership role. This position is suited to someone who enjoys hands‑on technical commissioning but wants greater influence, ownership, and the chance to lead a regional team delivering major high‑voltage projects. You will help shape commissioning delivery, support engineers, and play a key role in safely energising critical infrastructure across the region

About the Role

The Regional Commissioning Manager will play a key role in overseeing commissioning delivery across an assigned region, supporting multiple projects and working closely with commissioning teams to ensure works are properly planned, coordinated, delivered, and reported.

This role sits within the commissioning management structure and reports to the relevant Commissioning Manager. The position provides a clear link between project delivery teams and commissioning management, ensuring progress, risks, resource requirements, technical issues, and key blockers are understood and managed.

This is a strong progression opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional who is ready to move into a wider leadership role. It is suited to someone who can oversee several projects at the same time, support teams on site, work closely with clients and project teams, and help drive safe and successful commissioning delivery.

The role is not just about managing people. It is about taking ownership of commissioning delivery across a region, supporting project teams, maintaining strong technical standards, and helping bring projects safely through commissioning and energisation.

Key Responsibilities
Regional Commissioning Delivery
  • Oversee commissioning delivery across multiple projects within the assigned region.
  • Support Project Commissioning Managers, commissioning leads, engineers, technicians, graduates, and specialist teams in the planning and delivery of works.
  • Ensure commissioning programmes, resources, equipment, documentation, and client requirements are properly understood and managed.
  • Track progress across regional projects and report key updates, risks, blockers, and resource requirements to the relevant Commissioning Manager.
  • Help ensure projects are ready for commissioning and energisation, with clear ownership of outstanding actions.
  • Support the closeout of commissioning issues, snags, documentation, and technical queries.
Leadership and Team Support
  • Provide practical support and guidance to commissioning teams across the assigned region.
  • Help develop commissioning engineers, senior engineers, technicians, and graduates.
  • Support teams with planning, fault finding, documentation, technical challenges, and client-facing discussions.
  • Promote a strong standard of communication, ownership, safety, and quality across the regional team.
  • Support resource planning to ensure the right people are assigned to the right projects at the right time.
  • Build a strong team culture across the region, even where teams are spread across different sites.
Client, Project, and Internal Coordination
  • Represent commissioning in project meetings, client meetings, and internal planning discussions.
  • Work closely with project managers, design teams, protection teams, SCADA teams, operations, quality, safety, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure commissioning requirements are understood early and built into the project delivery plan.
  • Escalate issues early where they could impact commissioning progress, energisation dates, safety, quality, or client confidence.
Technical and Quality Oversight
  • Maintain a strong technical overview of commissioning activities across the region.
  • Review commissioning documentation, test sheets, redlines, as-built information, and closeout records.
  • Support FAT attendance, pre-commissioning reviews, walkdowns, and energisation readiness reviews.
  • Ensure commissioning works are delivered in line with company standards, client requirements, and safe systems of work.
  • Promote consistency in how commissioning is planned, delivered, recorded, and closed out across projects.
Why This Role May Suit You

This role may suit you if you are an experienced commissioning engineer, senior commissioning engineer, project commissioning lead, or project commissioning manager who is ready to take the next step into regional management.

It gives you the opportunity to lead across multiple projects, support and develop teams, work closely with clients, and have a real influence on how commissioning is delivered across a region.

You will remain close to the technical side of the work, while taking on broader responsibility for people, planning, delivery, reporting, and overall regional performance.

This is a role for someone who wants ownership, variety, and the opportunity to make a clear impact within a growing commissioning department.
