Job summary

GXO is seeking a Regional Class 2 Driver to support deliveries from the Gillingham and Ashford stores. This full-time, permanent role follows a two-week rotating shift pattern with start times between 07:00 and 11:00, totaling 40 hours per week.

You will perform multi‑drop home deliveries, maintain records, operate vehicles safely, and ensure correct delivery documentation, with a strong focus on customer service.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with category C entitlement and up-to-date CPC.
• Digital Tachograph and up‑to‑date CPC required.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• HIAB licence with brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent).
• Willingness to commute between Gillingham and Ashford stores; DBS check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi‑drop home deliveries directly to the customer’s chosen room.
• Maintain accurate driving/working time records using Tachomaster.
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner.
• Check off products and ensure customers receive correct deliveries and documentation.
• Keep customers informed of estimated delivery times and communicate issues politely.

Are you looking to put your Class 2 (Cat C) driving skills to good use in a customer-focused position? Do you enjoy delivering products directly to customers’ homes? Do you believe great customer service is just as important as a successful delivery?

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for highly experienced Regional Class 2 Driver to join our Store to Home team (applications from HIAB-qualified drivers are encouraged). In this role you will support deliveries from our Gillingham and Ashford stores therefore flexibility is essential.

You’ll be working on a full-time, permanent basis, following a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 - Monday to Friday/ Week 2 - Tuesday to Saturday, with start time between 07:00 and 11:00, contracted to 40hrs per week.

As a Driver, you’ll receive a competitive pay and benefits package, depending on the licence held:

Pay Rates:

• An hourly rate of £17.62, that is an annual salary of £36,649.60
• Overtime pay of £26.43 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)

Class 2 Driver (HIAB Qualified)

• An hourly rate of £17.70 that is an annual salary of £36,816.00
• Overtime pay of £26.55 per hour (when applicable, paid over 40hrs)

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Providing multi‑drop home deliveries directly to the customer’s chosen room, averaging 16 deliveries per day in quieter months and up to 24 during peak season
• Maintain accurate driving/working time records using the Tachomaster system and manual entries to record all working hours as required by the WTD regulations
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner
• Ensure all products are checked off the vehicle and the customer receive the correct products and delivery documentation
• Keep customers informed of their estimated time of delivery and where issues occur communicate with in a polite and courteous manner

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience in multidrop, store deliveries preferable but not essential
• A full UK driving licence with category C Entitlement with an up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• A valid HIAB licence with brick grab ticket (ALLMI or equivalent), where held
• Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
• Be prepared to commute between Gillingham and Ashford stores
