Job description

As a Regional Chef at Athena Care Homes, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen teams across our 7 care homes to provide an outstanding hospitality service to our residents.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Culinary & Hospitality, the Regional Chef will work closely with the Head Chefs and kitchen teams to support the delivery of an exceptional dining service. Responsibilities include menu enhancement, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards, and inspiring teams to positively impact residents’ lives.

Salary:

£13.37 per hour

Shift Pattern:

This will be a bank contract, 0-hours per week, with potential for full-time hours depending on business needs.

Location:

This is a regional role, working from any of our 7 locations, with travel expected between sites.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leading and developing kitchen teams to deliver outstanding catering services.
  • Reviewing and developing good catering practices, including food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Supporting dining checks across homes to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Promoting choice and dignity for residents, ensuring meals meet dietary needs.
  • Traveling to all locations to provide support during absences and leave.
Training, Skills & Experience Required:
  • Experience as a multi-site Head Chef is essential.
  • Experience in a care environment is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership, empowerment, support, and motivation skills.
  • Full UK driving license, access to a vehicle, and ability to travel between sites is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not available.
