Job summary

SOCOTEC Building Control Ltd is seeking a Regional Manager for Chelmsford to lead a Building Control team and deliver high-quality regulatory services across the region.

You will supervise inspectors, manage client relationships, and support the Regional Director in growing the team while ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and SOCOTEC standards. This hybrid role requires office presence at least 3 days per week and strong commercial acumen.

Qualifications

• Membership of professional body (RICS/CABE or equivalent) and CPD compliance.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams with frontline RBI supervision where applicable.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build client relationships and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and oversee compliance with Building Regulations and related legislation.
• Lead office operations, supervise RBIs and trainees, ensure quality and safety standards.
• Drive business development, manage budgets, and support revenue targets for the office.
