BBC Studios in London is seeking a Lead Digital Ad Operations professional to manage a London-based team across EMEA, overseeing end-to-end campaign delivery and optimization in line with business objectives.

You will partner with Product, Technology, Sales and Compliance while driving operational excellence and client delivery in a dynamic digital advertising environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Digital Ad Operations teams.

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £65,000–£75,000, plus a London Weighting allowance of £5,441, which is added on top of the base salary.

Purpose of the Role

Lead Digital Ad Operations across EMEA, managing a London-based team of digital experts and traffickers supporting sales teams in London, Dubai, Paris and across Europe and MENA. You’ll oversee end-to-end campaign delivery, sales enablement, optimisation and operational excellence, while partnering across Product, Technology, Sales, Finance and Compliance to ensure advertising activity is delivered effectively, efficiently and in line with business objectives.

You’ll lead a technically skilled team, shape best practice, support new advertising products and help improve campaign performance and client delivery across a complex digital advertising environment.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of EMEA ad operations campaigns, including quality control, trafficking, troubleshooting, reporting, optimisation, capacity planning and accurate billing, while mentoring Ad Operations Executives and Coordinators.
• Act as the regional Ad Operations lead for sales enablement, ensuring adherence to sales policy, communicating new strategies and products, and driving adoption through training and best-practice sharing.
• Partner with Sales, Planning and Account Management on inventory requests and client implementations, providing campaign updates, progress reports and dashboards while building strong relationships with advertisers, agencies and media buyers.
• Use business analytics, user behaviour and market insight to improve Ad Operations, support ad format testing and development, strengthen programmatic and cross-platform delivery, and contribute to the digital order management product roadmap.
• Provide first-line operational support and troubleshooting across digital advertising, collaborating with regional Ad Ops leads and stakeholders across Product, Sales, Finance and Compliance, and owning reconciliation and billing for direct regional campaigns.

Essential Criteria

• Experience managing Digital Ad Operations teams and delivering digital advertising activity in a publisher or advertising technology environment.
• Excellent understanding of Ad Operations, ad measurement and the digital, television, OTT and programmatic advertising landscapes.
• Advanced knowledge of advertising campaign management ecosystems and technologies, such as Operative One, Google Ad Manager, DV360, SSPs, YouTube and contextual advertising tools, with experience of order management systems and CRMs.
• Strong ability to coordinate geographically dispersed stakeholders and work across Sales, Product, Technology and other business teams to keep Ad Operations aligned with commercial needs and activity.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML for troubleshooting and the ability to use market, audience and analytics insight to inform planning and improvement.

Desired But Not Required

• Experience working with direct-to-consumer and digital media addressable advertising products.
• Experience developing campaign health metrics, reporting and analysis, including use of Business Intelligence tools to support decision-making.
• Understanding of reconciliation and billing cycles for advertising campaigns.
• Ability to work resourcefully under tight deadlines and respond effectively to shifting priorities across multiple client accounts.
• Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on attention to operational detail when required.
