Job summary

We have an opportunity for a Refuse Loader in Southall working with Contract and Personnel Services Ltd (CAPS). Hours are Monday to Friday, 06:30 am to 3:00 pm, at a pay rate of £14.25 per hour.

You will join a dedicated waste collections team delivering kerbside waste and recycling across the London Borough of Hounslow. This physically demanding role requires good fitness, manual handling, and teamwork to collect general refuse, dry recycling, food and garden waste, and bulky items from homes

Qualifications

• Experience in waste collection or similar physically demanding roles.
• Good level of fitness to perform heavy lifting.
• Ability to work as part of a crew and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to use PPE and report hazards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled waste and recycling collection rounds, ensuring timely and accurate collections and reporting any misses using the in-cab system.
• Safely load waste and recycling containers onto the collection vehicle in line with safe working practices.
• Clear spillages during collections to maintain clean public areas.
• Return emptied bins and containers neatly to the front of each property after collection.
• Assist the driver when manoeuvring or reversing the vehicle, acting as a banksman for safety of colleagues, pedestrians and other road users.
• Work collaboratively as part of the collection crew to deliver a reliable and efficient waste and recycling service.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, wear PPE, and report hazards, incidents or vehicle defects promptly.
