Job description

PERMANENT: 37 hours per week
SALARY: £27,711 to £30,060
LOCATION: Willand

Job Opportunity: Refuse Driver/Loader

Join our team at Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand, as a Full-Time Refuse Driver/Loader at our established waste and recycling depot.

As an ambassador for Mid Devon District Council, you will drive and operate vehicles used to collect household waste and recycling from residents and customers. A positive attitude and adherence to health and safety regulations are essential to provide excellent service to the community.

Requirements:

1. LGV Class 2 license and Driver CPC card
2. Passion for professional driving standards, good communication skills, and teamwork
3. Willingness to assist with loading
4. Experience in waste industry, working with Stillage Vehicles, Kerbside Loaders, and RCV
5. Immediate start available following DBS checks

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive LGV Category C and non-LGV vehicles as required
• Conduct daily vehicle checks
• Lead crew in collecting recycling and refuse from various locations in Mid Devon, ensuring no collections are missed
