Job Description

Undertake as a member of a team, duties concerned with the collection of waste from domestic and trade establishments.

May be required to cover street sweeping/litter collection duties and public convenience cleaning to cover staff shortages.

May be required to cover duties at outlying depots

Requirements

General Cleansing duties

To ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety are applied

The Individual

Previous employment of a similar nature i.e. predominantly labour intensive

Must have a basic level of literacy in order to read and act on instruction

Able to work on own under instruction and as part of an effective team

Self confident

Self motivated

Ability to follow routines and instructions Able to communicate efficiently and effectively with members of the public Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the practice of good team working

Willingness to accept direction/delegation

Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service

Ability to bend and stretch in order to uplift waste and recyclable materials in accordance with manual handling regulations

Ability to work in all weather conditions

Closing Date: 11 July 2025

22 Hours per week (Job Share)

Starting Salary: £25,512 (pro rata)

£13.26 per hour
