Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking a Refuse & Recycling Loader to help collect waste and recycling across the borough. The role operates on a flexible, ad-hoc basis with shifts arranged daily, typically up to 37 hours per week, across Kettering and Wellingborough depots.

Physical work outdoors is required and a can-do, respectful attitude is essential. Applicants should be prepared for early starts and to work in all weather conditions; training will be provided, and the role offers

Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recycling from households and businesses.
• Assist with missed bin collections.

• Carry out daily and weekly checks.
• Report incidents and near misses.
• Answer customer queries politely and professionally.

Refuse and Recycling Loader

Pay: Basic £14.13 per hour PAYE, Overtime and Saturday rate 1.5x, Bank holiday rate 2x.

Location: Wellingborough or Kettering Depot.

Shift pattern: ADHOC basis, booked on a daily basis as and when required. Can be booked up to 4 days per week over Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, 9.25 hours per day (overtime/Bank holiday work also available depending on service needs).

Work hours: Kettering - 06.30 - 16.30. Wellingborough - 07:00 - 17:00.
