Job summary

SCC is seeking a Refurbishment and Remarketing Manager to lead the refurbishment and remarketing function from our Birmingham site. This permanent, onsite role focuses on safe, efficient repair, grading, stock control and resale activity, maximizing value from assets while developing the team.

• 2+ years in refurbishment/ITAD or similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the refurbishment and remarketing team with clear objectives.
• Manage daily operations across repair, refurbishment, grading, QA, listing, fulfilment, despatch and returns.
• Maintain product-quality standards for refurbished equipment across channels.
• Ensure testing, cosmetic repair, configuration, grading and QC are documented and followed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Revive, customers, OEM partners and internal teams to align stock, pricing, and demand.
• Maximise value recovery while balancing quality, turnaround time, cost and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate physical and system stock records for finished goods, WIP, parts and consumables.
• Plan capacity, workflow and resources to meet KPIs, service levels and production targets safely.
• Use operational data to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive improvements.
• Provide technical and operational leadership and support process improvements.
• Build internal and external relationships and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with policies, H&S, Safe Systems of Work, security and environmental obligations.
• Lead continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, customer experience and productivity.
• Prepare operational updates and performance reviews, escalating risks when required.

Role purpose:

Lead the refurbishment and remarketing function at SCC Recyclea, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality repair, grading, stock control and resale activity. The role maximises value recovery from reusable assets while developing the team, maintaining operational controls and working with Sales, Revive, customers, OEM partners and internal teams to meet service, quality and commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, coach and develop the refurbishment and remarketing team, ensuring clear objectives, communication, training and competency.
  
• Manage daily operations across repair, refurbishment, grading, quality assurance, listing, fulfil-ment, despatch, returns and exceptions.
  
• Maintain product-quality standards for refurbished equipment supplied through SCC Revive, OEM programmes, e-commerce, eBay and approved channels.
  
• Ensure testing, cosmetic repair, configuration, grading and quality-control processes are docu-mented, understood and followed.
  
• Work with Sales, Revive, customers, OEM partners and internal teams to align stock, pricing, list-ings and customer demand.
  
• Maximise value recovery while balancing quality, turnaround time, cost, customer requirements and commercial outcomes.
  
• Maintain accurate physical and system stock records for finished goods, work in progress, spare parts, materials and consumables.
  
• Plan capacity, workflow and resources to meet KPIs, service levels and production targets safely and efficiently.
  
• Use operational data to monitor performance, identify trends, manage backlogs and implement corrective actions.
  
• Provide technical and operational leadership, supporting new technologies, repair methods and process improvements.
  
• Build effective internal and external relationships, providing clear updates and resolving opera-tional issues promptly.
  
• Ensure compliance with company policies, Health and Safety, Safe Systems of Work, security, en-vironmental obligations and the Traffic Management Plan.
  
• Lead continuous improvement activity to improve safety, quality, customer experience, produc-tivity, sustainability and value recovery.
  
• Prepare operational updates, team briefings and performance reviews, escalating risks, resource constraints and service issues where required.
  

Skills and experience:

Essential Requirement: Ability to successfully obtain and maintain all Government and/or Police Security Clearance levels required for the position, with no caveats, and in full compliance with customer contractual and operational requirements.

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role (ideally in the ITAD sector, repair / resale of refurbished computing products ) 2 years+ preferable.
  
• Possess a strong customer first work ethic and a continuous improvement mindset.
  
• Demonstrate excellent people management skills and the ability to motivate, develop and lead a team.
  
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  
• Possess the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in an accurate and timely manner, often against deadlines.
  
• Strong product knowledge and able to keep up to date as new technologies arise
  
• PC literate, competency in Microsoft applications essential
