Job summary

SOUTHERN DOMESTIC ABUSE SERVICE in New Forest is seeking a dedicated advocate to support adults affected by domestic abuse. The role focuses on preventing abuse by providing information, advice and temporary accommodation within a trauma‑informed framework.

This is a full-time post offering 37 hours per week, with emphasis on in‑person and telephone support. Applicants should be prepared to work within an integrated team, maintain safety standards and engage with residents and community members

Qualifications

• Role restricted to female applicants under Equality Act Schedule 9.
• DBS enhanced disclosure required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice by telephone and face to face to assist victims/survivors understanding services and options.
• Provide group work for residents and women in the community to offer ongoing advice and support and to connect survivors.
• Ensure high standard information, advice and temporary accommodation for women and children who have suffered abuse.
• Ensure smooth running of the refuge day-to-day, maintaining the building and health & safety compliance.
