Refrigeration Service & Installation Engineer

The Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Refrigeration Service & Installation Engineer to join a dedicated service team. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and installing farm milk cooling systems across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and North Wales. The role offers a varied workload, from planned maintenance and emergency breakdowns to full system installations, ensuring farms remain compliant with F-Gas regulations and operate efficiently.

The Company:
We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering business that supports the dairy farming sector with refrigeration, cooling, and efficiency solutions. With a strong reputation for reliability and technical expertise, the company provides an excellent platform for engineers to develop their careers within a supportive and progressive environment.

The Candidate:

  • Electrical: Able to test components (volt free to 415v), trace faults through panels, program controllers, replace motors, and wire communication cables
  • Refrigation/Mechanical: Experience in refrigeration or milk cooling systems, brazing, soldering, plumbing, and safe diagnosis of faults. F-Gas qualification highly desirable
  • Plumbing: Skilled in fitting cylinders, water pumps, and IBC water tanks
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability with tanks and refrigeration systems
  • Previous experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical engineering is highly transferable
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and within a team

The Package:

  • Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 DOE
  • 40-hour working week (Monday–Friday)
  • 1 in 3 on-call rota (emergencies only, evenings/weekends)
  • Overtime premium paid at 1.5x rate + £100 callout bonus
  • 25 days holiday after qualifying period
  • Company pension scheme
