Job summary

Corecruitment in the London area is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Engineer ready to step up into a Managing Engineer role. You will lead a team of refrigeration engineers across South London sites, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Refrigeration Engineers.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee PPM and reactive maintenance across supermarket sites.
• Manage the on-call rota and ensure 24/7 safe cover.
• Monitor performance against SLAs, KPIs, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with F-Gas, H&S, and refrigerant handling regulations.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to engineers.
• Liaise with clients and internal FM teams to maintain high service standards.
• Maintain records of works, risk assessments, and method statements.

Salary: £60,668 (including £3,000 location allowance)
Bonus: Up to 4% discretionary bonus (subject to targets)
Overtime: Paid at time and a half
Travel: Door-to-door pay
Location: Bromley, Croydon, Wimbledon or surrounding areas (regional travel across London)

About the Role

You will be responsible for a team of Refrigeration Engineers, ensuring that all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed on time and to budget. You will manage the call-out rota and ensure adequate, safe cover at all times across your regional patch in South London.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Refrigeration Engineers
• Plan, schedule, and oversee PPM and reactive maintenance across supermarket sites
• Manage the on-call rota and ensure 24/7 safe cover
• Monitor performance against SLAs, KPIs, and budgets
• Ensure full compliance with F-Gas, H&S, and refrigerant handling regulations
• Provide technical support and mentoring to engineers
• Liaise with clients and internal FM teams to maintain high service standards
• Maintain accurate records of works, risk assessments, and method statements

About You

• Strong background in refrigeration engineering with team leadership or supervisory experience
• Confident managing people, workloads, and client relationships
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-first approach
• Full UK driving licence and comfortable travelling across South London
