Refrigeration Engineer Position

Our client is a specialist Air Conditioning & Refrigeration company looking to expand their service team. The ideal candidate should be based within the North West area.

• Salary up to £34,000 - £36,400
• Travel paid door to door
• Working hours 8am - 4:30pm
• Company Van, Fuel Card & Private use
• Pension
• Available Overtime
• 20 Days + Bank Holidays
• Call Out Rota - 1 in 4 weekends. Following a weekend on call, engineers work a later shift (2pm to 10pm) the following week, with overtime rates at x1.5 for hours past 4:30pm.
• 30 days annual leave

The Refrigeration Engineer will perform planned and reactive service, installation, repair, and maintenance across various commercial refrigeration equipment, including cabinets, cold rooms, ice machines, cellar cooling, and bottle coolers. The customer base includes pubs, clubs, shops, restaurants, and hotels.

Qualifications required include NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds), along with F-Gas or Safe Handling of Refrigerants certification. Experience in lone working and a proven track record in service and maintenance of small to medium commercial refrigeration systems are essential. Knowledge of air conditioning systems is advantageous.

Key requirements:

• Proven experience in commercial refrigeration service and maintenance
• Experience with refrigeration cabinets, cold rooms, ice machines, cellar cooling, and bottle coolers
• Knowledge of air conditioning service works
• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• F-Gas or Safe Handling of Refrigerants certification
• Based in the North West
