Job summary

Omega is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer to cover the North West & North Wales on commercial refrigeration equipment. You will be the first line for service and maintenance across allocated sites and will also repair refrigeration systems at customer locations, supporting HVAC circuits where applicable.

The role requires NVQ/City & Guilds refrigeration qualification and time-served apprenticeship, with strong diagnostic skills and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Commercial or Transport Refrigeration experience.
• NVQ/City & Guilds refrigeration qualification via time served apprenticeship.
• Strong refrigeration, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Reading technical drawings and applying Health & Safety legislation.
• Hydrocarbon experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify faults and carry out effective repairs on commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Communicate professionally with customers on site and coordinate with internal service administration teams.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of new products, technical updates, and product developments.
• Handle engineer and customer queries over the phone, offering clear and accurate guidance.
• Report product issues and work with QC and Service Managers on improvements and safety matters.

Job description

Refrigeration Engineer North West & North Wales £42,637 + £2,000 performance bonus Permanent Omega are supporting a leading facilities management provider in their search for a Refrigeration Engineer working on commercial refrigeration equipment.

You will be the first line in all service and maintenance throughout allocated sites. They will also effectively maintain service and repair Refrigeration Equipment in customer locations and aid HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.

Key Responsibilities – Refrigeration Engineer

Qualifications & Requirements – Refrigeration Engineer

• Strong refrigeration, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic skills, with proven experience in fault finding and problem solving.
• Good refrigeration knowledge, including commercial systems and electrical safety awareness.
• Ability to read technical drawings and apply relevant Health & Safety legislation.
• Hydrocarbon experience (desired but not essential).
