Key Duties

About the practice: An independently owned RCVS accredited tier 3 hospital and referral centre in Wigan. Large purpose-built site with 7 consult rooms, multiple large operating theatres, and prep areas. State-of-the-art facilities including on-site CT Scanner & MRI, Orthopaedics kit, in-house lab, and more. Referrals are taken from across the country in areas including diagnostic imaging, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, neurology, dermatology, and others. The team comprises 8 vets, including an advanced practitioner and multiple certificate holders in various clinical areas, along with 10 RVNs, 2 SVNs, a practice manager, and support staff. The environment is friendly and fun, with social events and a supportive team. The practice is well-organized, with staff typically leaving by 6 pm on weekdays. Opportunities include doing first opinion work or progressing to referral level in preferred areas. The workweek is 4 days (9 am - 6 pm), with flexibility for other patterns like shorter days or part-time. Saturday mornings are scheduled for patient discharges only, with no OOH duties.
