Job description

Our dedicated team is seeking to recruit an organized and methodical individual to join our busy 2WW (2-week wait) Referral Booking Team.

As the successful candidate, you will have the ability to work systematically and independently, be friendly and conscientious, and possess excellent communication skills. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure.

The role involves computer-based work, so good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Operating the Trust’s booking process, including administration of outpatient waiting lists and scheduling new 2WW outpatient appointments.
  2. Ensuring optimal use of outpatient clinics and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Operating the national e-Referral system to ensure capacity is utilized effectively and efficiently.
  4. Registering and processing outpatient referral letters received through various means into the hospital.
  5. Following established procedures in accordance with Caldicott recommendations, Health Records Management, and Patient Administration Policy.
  6. Assisting the 2WW Cancer Referral Coordinator with processing referrals.
