Job summary

Reed's School is seeking a strong, LTA Accredited tennis coach to support the Reed’s School Tennis Academy (RSTA) and RPDC, delivering high-quality coaching to performance and school players.

You will report to the Director of Tennis and work full time across 40–42 weeks per year, inspiring players with energy and expertise in technique, tactics and footwork.

Qualifications

• LTA Accredited coach required.
• Experience developing performance players and school teams.
• Reliable team player with a passion for tennis.
• Willingness to travel to tournaments as directed.

Responsibilities

• Support Reed’s School Tennis Academy (RSTA) and Reed’s Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC).
• Plan, deliver and review coaching sessions.
• Identify players’ abilities and encourage development to reach full potential.
• Explain improvement methods and provide ongoing support in players’ tennis journey.
• Develop players’ all-round game (technique, tactics, footwork) and performance.
• Evaluate sessions and provide feedback.
• Travel to tournaments with players as directed by the RSTA Head Coach.
• Regularly assess players’ progress and report as necessary.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and report safeguarding concerns as required.

Job description

We are looking for a strong, LTA Accredited coach who is keen to help develop our performance and school team players at Reed's School.

This role will be full time, over 40 – 42 weeks per year, assisting the RSTA Head Coach and Director of Tennis in delivering an exceptional, high quality programme at Reed’s.

The successful candidate will be reliable, a team player with a passion for tennis and have the personality, energy and ability to inspire both our performance players and our school team players.

The role will report into the Director of Tennis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• You will work supporting the Reed’s School Tennis Academy (RSTA), Reed’s Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) and school sessions.
• Plan, deliver and review appropriate coaching sessions.
• Identify players' abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
• Provide explanations to players as to how to improve and keep supporting them on their tennis journey.
• Develop players' all round game – including technique, tactics and footwork and identify ways to improve performance.
• Evaluate sessions and provide feedback.
• Travel to and accompany players to tournaments (as directed by the RSTA Head Coach) and offer guidance and support.
• Regularly assess each tennis player’s ability and progress and provide reports, as necessary.
• Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.
• Raise child protection issues, reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible for and with whom you come into contact.
