Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is recruiting an Offensive Security Consultant for a large financial services organisation. You will conduct hands-on offensive testing and threat emulation to identify weaknesses before real attackers do, with some exposure to AI security testing.

The role is hybrid with three days in the office in cities including London, Bristol, Halifax, Edinburgh or Leeds, offering a 12‑month contract at £600 Inside IR35. Start date 1 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Background in red teaming, offensive security testing, or threat emulation.
• Open to Red Team Operators, Offensive Security Testers, Threat Emulation Specialists, AI Security Testers and Purple Team Practitioners
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
• Strong team player, cross functional and geographically dispersed teams
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• High level of professionalism, integrity and accountability
• Adaptable and resilient, with a commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Carry out penetration testing across the estate
• Run red team and offensive security exercises
• Deliver threat emulation activity to test detection and response
• Support purple team work alongside defensive teams
• Assess and test AI related security risks
• Report findings clearly to stakeholders and advise on remediation
