Job summary

Kenect Recruitment Ltd. is seeking site operatives to cover Chelmsford and surrounding areas. Shifts involve 32–48 hours per week with weekend work and driving between sites.

You will assist the public, help with site cleanliness, and perform heavy lifting as part of a team. A valid UK driving license and own transport are required.

There is an enhanced hourly rate for bank holidays, and candidates must wear steel toe capped boots and meet GCSE English & Maths minimum requirements.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at minimum.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting and stand for long periods.
• Experience in the waste industry is preferred but not essential.
• Must have own transport to travel between sites.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to stay calm in difficult situations.
• Physically fit to work on foot for extended periods.
• Must wear steel toe capped boots on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist members of the public and keep work areas tidy.
• Carry out physical tasks including lifting across multiple sites.
• Work across Chelmsford, Maldon, Witham, Braintree and surrounding areas.

Job description

Site operatives required to cover – Chelmsford, Maldon, Witham, Braintree and surrounding areas.

Flexible hours from 32 to 48 per week, depending on requirements to cover holiday and sickness.

Sites open Monday to Sunday so must be prepared to work at weekend. Enhanced hourly rate for bank holidays.

• Hours: 08:45-17:15 (8 hours)
• Shifts: 4 to 6 days per week
• Must be able to drive with own transport to work on various sites. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF NO TRANSPORT.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

• Assisting members of the public and keeping areas tidy.
• Some heavy lifting involved and standing for long periods of time.
• Experience of working within the waste industry preferred but not essential.
• Ability to stay calm in difficult situations with good interpersonal skills.
• General good health, able to work on foot for lengthy periods of time.
• Qualified to minimum GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Computer literate.
• Possible temp to perm placements.
• Applicants must have steel toe capped boots.
