Overview

Wokingham Council is offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate negotiable dependent upon experience. We are looking for a Recycling Engagement Officer (role reference RG401BN).

Responsibilities

• Drive a food waste participation campaign in Wokingham Borough.
• Work across the borough, knock on doors and carry out a short survey with residents, speaking to residents about their recycling habits and promoting and educating waste minimisation and recycling in low participation areas.
• Carry out surveys of bin stores, identify the types of bins currently in place and the requirements to support Wokingham meeting its Simpler Recycling requirements.

• Confidence speaking to people; comfortable using Excel and Outlook.
• An interest and passion for waste minimisation and recycling would be advantageous.
