Recruitment Specialist/Officer

Location: Mid Ulster/Co L’Derry/Magherafelt area

Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Our multi-award winning, well established construction/maintenance client in the Mid Ulster/Co L’Derry/Magherafelt area, boasts an impressive portfolio of clients and they are continuing to expand.

They now wish to recruit a Recruitment Specialist/Officer to take the lead on the full end to end recruitment process and help the business continue to build a strong, values led workforces across multiple departments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven recruiter to take ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle—from scoping roles and sourcing candidates to onboarding new hires. The ideal candidate will have a background in either in-house or agency recruitment, ideally with experience across technical, trades, or operational roles.

The Role:

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle: advertising, sourcing, screening, selection, and onboarding
  • Partner with managers to understand workforce needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies
  • Source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and proactive outreach
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, and pre-employment checks
  • Maintain accurate and engaging job descriptions and vacancy adverts
  • Support employer branding and candidate experience initiatives
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines across key roles
  • Coach hiring managers on interview techniques and selection practices
  • Oversee onboarding and probation processes
  • Manage apprenticeship programmes and support early talent development
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in recruitment systems and processes

The Person:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an in-house or agency recruitment role
  • Knowledge of recruitment compliance and NI employment legislation
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Confident sourcing, interviewing, and managing multiple vacancies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent HR qualification
  • Experience recruiting in construction, trades or facilities sectors
  • Familiarity with recruitment marketing and employer brand development
