Reports To: Nursery Manager and Managing Director

Contract Type: Part Time (flexible working patterns can be discussed)

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 dependent upon experience (pro-rata)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Recruitment Partner to strengthen our internal team and help us reduce reliance on costly agency staff.

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for an experienced in-house recruiter to work part time hours within an enriching and supportive nursery that is growing where no child is a number.

Role Purpose

The Recruitment Partner will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and onboarding high-quality early years professionals who align with our values and commitment to excellence. A key objective of the role is to significantly reduce the nursery's current spend on agency staff by developing a reliable, internal talent pipeline and streamlining the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a proactive recruitment strategy for all nursery roles (practitioners, suite leaders, support staff, etc.).
  • Build talent pipelines to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates for current and future vacancies.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process: advertising, screening,interviewing, compliance checks, and onboarding.
  • Liaise with nursery management to understand staffing needs and role requirements.
  • Use creative and cost-effective methods to attract candidates (e.g., local job boards, social media, partnerships with colleges, referral schemes).
  • Monitor agency usage and work towards reducing agency reliance by increasing internal hires and maintaining a bank of flexible workers.
  • Track recruitment metrics and provide regular reports to management on hiring performance, cost savings, and staffing stability.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate communications, interviews, and compliance documentation.
  • Champion employer branding and promote Sweet Peas as an employer of choice in the childcare sector.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in recruitment, preferably in childcare, education, healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of safer recruitment practices and DBS compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and target-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of employment law and recruitment best practices.
  • Confidence using recruitment platforms, databases, and social media.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience recruiting for early years settings.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and early years qualifications.
  • HR experience or CIPD qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
