Following an exceptional year of strategic growth, BGI is entering a bold new phase and we’re looking for an experienced recruiter to take the lead in one of our most in-demand specialisms: Legal interim, contract and temporary placements.

We are looking for an experienced recruiter with a background in temporary and contract placements within the legal sector, to launch and grow a dedicated interim & contract legal desk

About the role

  • You’ll specialise in legal interim, temp and contract recruitment across in-house and private practice – with access to a warm desk and a client portfolio that includes top UK and global law firms.
  • Source, register, and place high-quality interim and contract professionals across legal and legal support roles (e.g., Legal Secretaries, Paralegals, Legal PAs, Compliance Officers, HR, Business Support)
  • Manage a fast-moving candidate pool, focusing on availability, skills matching, and immediate placements
  • Build a bench of reliable temps and interims ready to go at short notice
  • Engage with a live database of warm clients, build relationships, qualify their needs, and win exclusive business
  • Target key decision-makers within law firms, in-house legal teams, and professional services organisations
  • Develop a niche and become known as the go-to for contract legal and legal support recruitment
  • Take full control of the recruitment cycle: from job qualification and advert writing to shortlisting, interviewing, referencing, and placement
  • Manage timesheets, contract compliance, onboarding, and post-placement care for temp workers
  • Work closely with senior leadership to shape your desk’s direction, goals, and commercial model
  • Identify growth areas within the legal contract market and plan how to expand the division
  • Maintain service quality and pace in a competitive market
  • Share market insight and candidate trends with the wider BGI Legal team
  • Contribute ideas and process improvements as the desk evolves
