Job description

We're Hiring! Join Us as a Recruitment Assistant

Are you super organised, a natural communicator, and love the idea of helping people start in their new jobs? We’re looking for a warm and proactive Recruitment Assistant to join our friendly team!

This is your chance to be right at the heart of our recruitment process—supporting candidates and our managers from start to finish and making sure everything runs like clockwork. From sending out offer letters to giving hiring managers a helping hand, your day will be full of variety, people, and purpose.

About The Role

You’ll be our go-to person for candidate queries, making sure they feel supported and in the loop every step of the way. You’ll also be helping with things like:

  • Making sure all the right checks are done before new people join us, keeping us safe and the process smooth and efficient.
  • Keeping our recruitment system up to date, accurate and reliable (don’t worry, we’ll show you how).
  • Keeping things on track behind the scenes, working with candidates to ensure they have the best experience possible during the recruitment process.
  • Lending a hand at job fairs—great opportunities to meet people and promote the work we do at CrossReach.
What We’re Looking For

If you're someone who:

  • Has excellent communication skills, personable but able to convey complex requirements clearly.
  • Is highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Has some experience in recruitment or administration, or a keen interest in it.
  • Is confident using email, Teams, spreadsheets, and common tech tools.
  • Brings a friendly, can-do attitude to work every day.
  • Experience with recruitment software or social media for hiring is a bonus, but not essential.
Why join us?

You’ll be part of a supportive, caring team where your work truly makes a difference. We value kindness, compassion, and respect—whether for job applicants or colleagues. You’ll have opportunities to develop your skills, attend events across Scotland, and help people start meaningful careers.

We offer a range of benefits including retail and leisure discounts, a contributory pension plan, health benefits, family-friendly policies, and professional development support.

CrossReach has over 150 years of experience in social care, pioneering services that have improved thousands of lives. As part of the Church of Scotland, we aim to provide compassionate care in Christ’s name, respecting all Christian worship traditions.

Applicants must undertake vetting checks and a Disclosure Scotland Basic check. All employees must have the legal right to work in the UK, verified through UK Visas and Immigration.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing the unique backgrounds and abilities of all individuals. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive.
