The role of the Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator is to promote Prestige Nursing & Care, ensuring full compliance with quality, regulatory and legislative standards. The role requires a proactive response to building key internal and external relationships. An eye for detail is essential as is knowledge of current social care sector conditions and trends.
This role will:
– Lead and coordinate the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of care staff for the Banbury branch.
– Ensure staffing levels support safe and effective care delivery, while maintaining compliance with all relevent regulatory and quality standards.
– Build relationships with the local community and ensuring timely and efficient recruitment and onboarding.
– Be responsible for coordination of training delivery to ensure all new care staff are fully prepared to begin work safely and competently.
Main Responsibilites:
– Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from advertising to offer stage.
– Liaise with the Deputy Branch Manager and Registered Manager to assess staffing needs and prioritise recruitment efforts.
– Write and post engaging job adverts across various platforms.
– Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and community outreach.
– Attend local job fairs and community events to promote the branch as an employer of choice.
– Conduct pre-screening assessments where required.
– Conduct interviews, assessing candidates for values alignment, skills, and suitability for care roles.
– Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
– Manage onboarding activities including DBS checks, reference collection, right-to-work verification, and ID/documentation collation.
– Ensure all compliance documentation is complete and up to date in line with CQC and ISO standards.
– Schedule inductions and ensure candidates are supported through to their first shift.
– Maintain accurate digital and physical records using internal systems.
– Track progress against recruitment KPIs and report weekly to the Branch Manager.
– Support wider branch team with administrative tasks related to new starters.
– Champion a culture of compliance and continuous improvement in recruitment practices.
– Provide holiday/sickness cover as required and support ad hoc operational needs, which may include care visits.
– Contribute to continuous improvement in recruitment and onboarding processes.
– Coordinate training delivery for new starters.
Accountabilities:
– Timely recruitment of quality care staff – ensure care roles are filled promptly with suitable, values-aligned candidates to maintain safe staffing levels and continuity of care.
– Full compliance with onboarding and regulatory requirements – deliver 100% compliance for all new starters through robust onboarding processes, including DBS checks, Right to Work documentation, and training, in line with CQC and ISO standards.
– Effective coordination of induction training
– Positive candidate experience and retention support – maintain regular candidate communication throughout the recruitment and onboarding journey, ensuring a smooth, supportive experience that encourages retention.
– Community engagement and brand visibility – proactively represent the branch at local job fairs and outreach events to build candidate pipelines and raise awareness of Prestige Nursing & Care as an employer of choice.
To be a successful as a Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator, you will have:
Essential
– Good level of general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent)
– Excellent customer service and communication skills, and friendly and professional manner
– Strong administrative and organisational skills
– Previous experience in recruitment, HR or administration
– Able to meet deadlines and sudden changes in an organised manner
– High levels of attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
– Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
– Adaptability
– Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
– Proven experience in taking initiative and acting independently without direction.
Desirable
– Experience of or motivation to work in the health & social care sector
– Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
– Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
– Commitment to improve and identify areas of opportunity for self-development.
– Driver with access to own vehicle.
– Able to work unsocial hours when required
– Strong understanding of safe recruitment practices (e.g. DBS, Right to Work, GDPR)
– Knowledge of CQC and ISO standards
